US Postal Service Announces 2025 Stamp Designs

The United States Postal Service (USPS) has unveiled its eagerly anticipated lineup of stamp designs for 2025, showcasing a vibrant mix of history, natural beauty and pop culture icons.
The announcement is sure to excite stamp collectors, offering a glimpse into the artistry and celebrated themes that will grace envelopes across the nation.
“This early glimpse into our 2025 stamp program demonstrates our commitment to providing a diverse range of subjects and designs for both philatelists and stamp enthusiasts,” said Lisa Bobb-Semple, stamp services director for USPS.
“This year, we are continuing several of our popular series and commemorative anniversaries while introducing some exciting new stamps. Additionally, several of our mail-use stamps, which are printed based on demand, will be updated this year.”
All of the proposed 55 new releases will be Forever stamps unless otherwise stated.
“Each stamp has its value printed on its face,” the USPS told Newsweek via email on Monday. “The Forever stamps have Forever printed on them, the Postcard Rate stamps have Postcard printed on them, the Global Rate stamps have Global printed on them.
“Forever stamps will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1‑ounce price. ”
Some notable designs for 2025 include:
Appalachian Trail: A pane of 15 stamps showcasing scenic views from the 14 states along the historic trail from Maine to Georgia, with an additional stamp showing stretches of trail through dense forest. The stamps were designed using images from various photographers.
Betty White: USPS is honoring the beloved actress and cultural icon, who was also a passionate advocate for animals.
Allen Toussaint: This will be the 48th stamp featured in the Black Heritage series, celebrating the legendary New Orleans jazz musician and composer.
Lunar New Year – Year of the Snake: Part of the ongoing series, this stamp showcases a colorful, 3D paper mask design and is the sixth stamp in the current Lunar New Year series.
A new Love Stamp is set to be released featuring a vibrant 1985 artwork by Keith Haring, symbolizing universal love.
Natural Themes, including Dahlias with close-up floral photographs, Vibrant Leaves postcard stamps and Baby Wild Animals with whimsical animal designs are also prevalent.
Historic and artistic highlights include the 1794 Compass Rose global stamp and a new Winter Landscapes series.
There will also be a new stamp for irregularly sized envelopes featuring a luna moth, considered one of the most beautiful U.S. moths.
In addition, a new stamped card is set to be released featuring an illustration of a two-masted sea vessel based on a photo of a 2014 replica of the 1923 schooner Columbia. These designs are issued every few years for customers who want to send postcards with postage already included.
More details about the stamp program will be released in the coming months. The designs are preliminary and may change, while additional designs may also be added.
